We are dedicated to diverting high-quality waste materials from the UK construction and demolition industry and reimagining them into beautiful, durable, and unique modern furniture.
"Prima Materia" is a name from ancient philosophy and alchemy that means "the first matter"—the original substance from which everything originates.
Just as an alchemist saw immense potential in a single, unrefined material, we see the same in what society considers waste. We don't see these discarded elements as inert rubbish, but as a rich resource.
Through our creative process, we transform and honour them, giving them new purpose and turning them into beautiful, functional, and sustainable interior design pieces.

Our first capsule collection is a testament to this mission. Working directly on the demolition site of 1 Museum Street in Holborn, we meticulously salvaged high-quality materials from the 17-storey former Travelodge. Our team of talented ex-Royal College of Art (RCA) designers has reimagined these discarded resources, crafting them into a truly unique collection of furniture.
